Barbara and I are not beach people. We definitely don't like laying out in the sun. Since I have a light complexion and can burn easily in the sun, I head for the shade anytime I'm outdoors. Having the sun shine on my skin actually feels painful to me. Neither of us are water people either. Sitting in a spa in the shade is our idea of a great water activity. So none of the swimming, snorkling, water slides, or just laying in the sun activities of "A Perfect Day In Cococay" appealed to us. The only shore excursion that looked a bit interesting to us was the one hour glass bottom boat tour. But we've been on a lot of glass bottom boat tours. The best was in Cabo San Lucas where it wasn't just the bottom of the boat that was clear, the entire boat was made out of a clear see through rubber or platic material and you could see through the entire boat! We didn't think it was worth the time, walk and cost to go ashore just for a one hour glass bottom boat ride. So instead we decided to stay onboard and tour the ship while there were less people onboard. Surprisingly, there were actually quite a few others who stayed onboard, but there was defintely a lot less people on the ship than when everyone is onboard on sea days.
The Wonderland Restaurant is one of the restaurants we picked for our 3 Meal Dining Package of up to 40% off. From YouTube videos we watched it was highly recommended for its unique experience and offerings.
The Wonderland Restaurant Menu is divided into 5 sections: Sun, Ice, Fire, Earth and Sea. Nowhere does it explain which are appetizers and which are mains. The items under Earth and Sea are mains and everything else are appetizers. The server asks you to pick your main, but they suggest that you let them pick your appetizers. Probably the chef prepares a large amount of the appetizers they wish to serve that day, but you could probably pick which ones if you want.
The server strongly suggested The Rib "I" Luscious Short Rib as it was prepared in wine for several hours and she felt was the best item on the menu. So we went with that for one of our mains. For the other main, I was going to select the Liquid Truffle Mushroom Risotto, but our server strongly recommended against that. She said it had a very different taste from other risotto and was very liquid. I suspect that a lot of guests that selected it might not have liked it. So instead I selected the Branzino in Crispy Bread. Barbara and I split each of the main entrees.
We ordered the Smoke Rings and the White Rabbit-Rita. Barbara is shown here with the White Rabbit-Rita and me with the Smoke Rings. We shared half of each so we could each try each drink.
My favorite item of everything we ordered was the "Liquid Truffle Mushroom Risotto." If our server hadn't discouraged us from ordering this item as one of our mains, I definitely would have ordered it as my main. Maybe most people don't like it, but I thought it was the best item on the menu. Barbara and I together only ate half of the main menu that I ordered, the "Branzino in Crispy Bread." The server only brought us a one spoonful taste of the "Liquid Truffle Mushroom Risotto" which I'm sure I would have completely finished if I had ordered it as I wanted for my main menu dish.
This was an absolutely wonderful performance! There was no band at all. All the sounds were from people making sounds using their voices that sounded like instruments.
