Fully cooked breakfast of eggs and more available along with muffins, pastry, toast, mellon, etc. Many types of coffee and a full bar available at no cost. Free WiFi and plenty of comfortable seating. American Express just sent me a gift celebrating 50 years of being an American Express cardholder since 1972!
We were very lucky on this flight, just as we were on our flight to Australia. Though the seatmap showed only 2 empty seats on this flight with the seat in the middle between Barbara and I taken, nobody sat between us. Thus we had the 3 seats all to ourselves on this flight, just as we had on the flight to Australia. The flight to Australia wasn't completely full, but looking around I could not see another empty seat on this flight other than the empty seat between us.
They served wine at no cost with every meal and snack. Dinner was served shortly after take off, a chicken salad sandwich snack in the middle of the night, and the egg breakfast shown above shortly before landing. It was a very unusual 14 hour flight as we landed at 6:00 AM in Los Angeles 2 hours and 30 minutes before we left Sydney at 9:30 AM, both departing and arriving on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023. We watched some of the hundreds of movies available on our seatback screens or reading e-books for most of the night only getting a few hours sleep. Yes, I said night. Most of the trip was through the night even though we left and arrived in the morning of the same day. Heading east, we were chasing the sunset into the night. After leaving in the morning we very rapidly flew into the night and then back again into sunrise as we approached California. Since we didn't sleep much during the flight, we ended up sleeping in bed at our Anaheim house for most of Wednesday.
