We walked a couple of blocks from the ship and took an Uber to "Jazz On The Rocks". Uber drivers prefer to not pick up near where all the taxis pick up passengers at the cruise port as they can sometimes encouter hostility from the taxi drivers. We have found that taxis have a rate they charge tourists that can sometimes be as much as 300% of what they charge locals. We've had that confirmed by Americans that live in Mexico. Uber has only one rate, the rate for locals. Even though the Uber drivers often don't speak English, there really is no need to converse with them as the Uber software provides them with your destination on their mobile device. We only had to wait about 2 minutes for the Uber to arrive. It was a modern clean vehicle. The cost to our destination that was about a 20 minute ride was only US $7. Uber suggested a $1 tip, but we gave a $2 tip via the app. Uber is also a cashless transaction so need to provide a credit card or cash to the driver.
We took another Uber back to the ship. It came in less than 5 minutes. The Uber ride this time was US $10. Uber rates vary by demand and there was probably a bit more demand of people returning to their ship or hotels at this hour.
