When they said "complimentary drinks", they really meant "complimentary drinks". The wait staff were coming up to Barbara and I every two minutes trying to give us another cocktail or wine even though we already had a full glass in our hands! We each had 2 drinks before the event was over. But if we had every drink they tried to give us, we'd probably have had about a dozen drinks each!
Theh announced the youngest passenger to achieve Platinum VIFP status. She was only 8 years old and had been on 14 Carnival cruises. The oldest people on board who had achieved Diamond VIFP status was a couple that were each 89 years old and had done more than 50 cruises on Carnival. A bit amazing since Carnival really tends to cater more to young people. I would have thought an 89 year old comfortable would have found more to enjoy on Princess or Holland America.
This is a view from the 5th deck looking down on the ship's casino on the 4th deck. The 5th deck has glass all around on this balcony area so the smoke from the 4th deck can not rise up into the 5th deck but you can look down into the casino. Barbara and I did not spend any time during this cruise gambling in the casino. We rarely ever gamble in the casino on our cruises. I personally don't even like walking through the casino due to the strong smell of cigarette smoke. The casino is one of the few places on the ship, maybe the only place on the ship, where one is allowed to smoke indoors.
We did not get a chance to eat on the Sushi side of Bonsai Sushi Teppanyaki on this cruise, but you can see the menu of that restaurant above.
The above are the photos that the Carnival photographers took of us. Carnival charges $17.99 per 8x10" printed photos AND another $17.99 per digital copy of each photo. You can purchase one or the other or both. They also have photo packages of multiple photos, but those were all well over $100. If they were charging $5 or $10 per photo print, or digital copy, or both, we might have puchased them. But at $17.99 we didn't feel compelled to buy any of them. We felt we took enough photos of each other and selfies on this cruise which are for free. We have purchase photo packages on prior cruises that were priced much more reasonably.
